Jean-Pierre Dumont

Jean-Pierre Dumont (born April 1, 1978 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who plays for the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL). Previously, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks. JP, as he is usually referred to as, was drafted third overall the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders. A contract dispute between the two sides saw him traded to the Blackhawks in 1998. In 2000, he was traded to Buffalo along with Doug Gilmour in exchange for Michal Grosek.

Dumont has played excellently during the Sabres' run in the 2006 playoffs, including scoring an overtime goal in Game 3 second round series versus the Ottawa Senators.
