Jean Belet de Vigny edited many important works including the editation and translation to French of the valuable hagiography known as "Legenda Sanctorum" or as "Golden Legend". Jean Belet et Jean de Vifnay sont deux personnages distincts, le premier, thélogien a vécu au 12ème siècle et ne peut donc avoir traduit la Légende Dorée, le second est le traducteur de la Légende dorée, la traduction daterait de 1333-1348.
