Jefferson-Jackson Day is the most common name given to the annual fundraising celebration held by local chapters of the Democratic Party in the United States. It is usually held in February or March around the same time as the Republican's equivalent Lincoln Day dinner.
It is named for Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson. According to its website, the Democratic Party claims its founder to be Jefferson, however the first official democratic candidate president was Andrew Jackson in 1824, though he would come to power in 1829.
