Jennifer Grey (born March 26, 1960, in New York City) is an American actress.
Biography
Early life
She is the daughter of well known stage and screen actor Joel Grey and the granddaughter of comedian and musician Mickey Katz. Grey is an alumna of The Dalton School, an elite private school in New York City.Career
Grey had a spate of good roles in the late 1980s. After small roles in The Cotton Club and American Flyers, she played Ferris' sister Jeanie in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She starred alongside Patrick Swayze in Red Dawn and was reluctant to work with him again. Grey then gained her greatest fame in the lead role of Frances "Baby" Houseman in the 1987 hit movie Dirty Dancing with Swayze again.Grey also appeared in the TV movie The West Side Waltz in 1995 on Thanksgiving evening on CBS, written by acclaimed playwright Ernest Thompson. The movie also stars Shirley Maclaine, Liza Minnelli, and Kathy Bates.
Grey appeared in the short-lived ABC sitcom It's Like, You Know... (1999–2000) as a struggling actress named Jennifer Grey, who pokes fun at herself after a much-publicized nose job (parodying Grey's own plastic surgery):

Personal life
Grey's husband since July 2001 is actor Clark Gregg (The New Adventures of Old Christine). The couple has one child, daughter Stella, born December 3, 2001.External links
