Jiangyin

Jiangyin (Simplified Chinese: }}}; Traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: ; Wade-Giles: Kiangyin) is a city in China's Jiangsu province on the Yangtze River. It has an urban population of 110,400 (est. 2002).
The Jiangyin Suspension Bridge, spanning the Yangtze, links the southern half of the province with the northern half.
History
Jiangyin's name means "River Shade", from its location on the south or shady side of the Yangtze River.Traditionally a farming area, the residents of Jiangyin have recently become among the most wealthy in China, due to the rapid economic expansion enjoyed by this region.
Culture
Jiangyin is in the region of Northern Wu Chinese, which means the inhabitants speak a dialect similar to that of Shanghai.Social Welfare Institute
Until 1995, foreign adoptions of children from Jiangyin were handled through the larger Changzhou Children's Welfare Institute.
