Joe Farrell, real name Joseph Carl Firrantello (born, Chicago Heights, Illinois, USA, December 16, 1937 - died, Los Angeles, California, January 6, 1986) was a jazz saxophonist and flautist.
Early in his career he played with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band. He is best known for performance with Chick Corea, in Return to Forever, as well for a series of albums under his own name on the CTI label, he also recorded with Charles Mingus and Elvin Jones.
He was heavily influenced by John Coltrane. His early solo CTI LP, "Song of the Wind", with Chick Corea and Jack DeJohnette, showed an avant garde style.
