Jogwheel
Encyclopedia : J : JO : JOG : Jogwheel
A jogwheel is an electronic tool for editing video most commonly found on a VCR or a control board which is connected to professional editing decks. To use a jogwheel one turns it either to the left to rewind the video, or to the right to fast forward it. Depending on the degree of turn the video playback's speed is modulated incrementally. To pause the video you press the jogwheel. From here you can spin (or jog) the top of the jogwheel in circles, this will result in advancing the video very slowly, one frame at a time.
