John Cameron Swayze (April 4, 1906 – August 15, 1995) was a popular news commentator and game show panelist in the United States, during the 1950s. He hosted NBC's first news program the Camel News Caravan from 1949-1956. Later during the early 1960's he anchored ABC's Evening News. He was also well known for a series of Timex watch commercials, in the 1970s.
