John George Dodson, 1st Baron Monk Bretton (18 October 1825 – 25 May 1897), known before 1884 as John George Dodson, was a British Liberal politician. He entered parliament as a member for Sussex East in 1857, and represented that constituency until 1874, when he moved to Chester and then Scarborough in 1880. He was made a peer in 1884 and went to the House of Lords as Baron Monk Bretton.
