Encyclopedia : J : JO : JOH : John Maurice Clark
John Maurice Clark (born 30 November 1884 in Northampton, Massachusetts; died 27 June 1963 in West Haven, Connecticut) was an American economist.
Clark is considered one of the founders of the theory of workable competition, which presupposes the measurability of the market price of products in a monopoly. Harvey Leibenstein demonstrated with his theory of X-efficiency that this measurement is very difficult to obtain.
