Joint resolution
Encyclopedia : J : JO : JOI : Joint resolution
A joint resolution is a legislative measure which requires, for example, approval by both chambers of a bicameral legislature.
In the US Congress, joint resolutions are very similar to bills but occur far less often. Generally they authorize small appropriations, extend appropriations while other legislation is pending, or make constitutional amendments.
