Jonathan Klein (born 1960) is a South African businessman who co-founded stock-photography company Getty Images in London, England in 1995. As an ambitious young man, he was accepted into Trinity Hall, Cambridge and moved to England where he remained until Getty Images' move of headquarters to Seattle, Washington facilitated his own move to the United States. Klein and his partner Mark Getty, one of the heirs to the vast Getty family oil wealth, met at Trinity Hall of Cambridge College and together co-founded Getty Investments (1993) and Getty Images (1995), the former company being the latter's principal shareholder. Since then the company has become the most profitable in the business, outstripping competitors such as Corbis, a Bill Gates venture. A noted leader, Klein's successes as CEO of Getty Images have led him to positions on the board of Real Networks and many charitable ventures such as the Global Business Coalition On Aids. Klein also remains involved with the Conservation Corporation, a South African company that seeks to protect South African land from over-development. He now serves as head of CNN/U.S.
