Joséphin Péladan

Encyclopedia : J : JO : JOS : Joséphin Péladan

Joséphin Péladan (1858-1918) was a French martinist.

He claimed that a Babylonian King left the title of "Sâr" to his family. After being associated with Papus and Stanislas de Guaita, he left the Martinist Order and created, in June 1890, a Catholic Order of the Rose and the Cross, of which he became the leader and took the titles of "Imperator" and "Super Magician".
