Joseph Kosma

Joseph Kosma (born October 22, 1905 in Budapest, died August 7, 1969 outside Paris) was a Hungarian composer.
Kosma was a major contributor to French cinema music of the mid-century. He studied with Béla Bartók in Academy Liszt and Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Among his credits are the scores to some great films made in France: La Grande Illusion, Les Enfants du Paradis, and The Rules of the Game. He is also known for writing the standard classical-Jazz piece "Autumn Leaves" (lyrics by Jacques Prévert).
Joseph Kosma died in 1969 and was buried in the Cimetière de Montmartre in the Montmartre Quarter of Paris.
