Joshua Scott Chasez (born August 8, 1976), known as "JC," is a member of the boy band 'N Sync.
Biography
Early Life
Chasez was born in Washington D.C. to parents of French and English descent. He was a performer from 1990 through 1994 on the third incarnation of The Mickey Mouse Club which aired on the Disney Channel along with future bandmate Justin Timberlake, and other future music and acting stars Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Rhona Bennett, Keri Russell, and Ryan Gosling.
Career
A prolific writer and producer, JC has written and produced many of *NSYNC's songs as well as writing and producing for other artists such as Girls Aloud, Wild Orchid and a track featured on Euge Groove's self titled album.
After the release of their fourth album Celebrity, the members of *NSYNC decided to take some time to pursue their own interests. After recording the single "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" for the soundtrack of the Drumline motion picture, released in December, 2002, Chasez decided to record a solo album.
His debut solo album, Schizophrenic, was released on February 24, 2004. It features the singles "Some Girls (Dance With Women)" and "All Day Long I Dream About Sex".
JC appears on Basement Jaxx 's album Kish Kash (2003) as vocalist for the song "Plug it In," produced by the Jaxx. They returned the favour by producing the track "Shake It" for Schizophrenic. JC also collaborated with well-known DJ/composer BT on BT's 2003 album Emotional Technology, where he provided backup vocals on the track "Somnambulist" and lead vocals on the dance hit "The Force of Gravity".
He is currently in studio producing his second album which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2006, with artists Dallas Austin, Timbaland, Rockwilder and Yummy. The song "I'm Not Sleeping Alone" was leaked late April to JC-Source.net. The direction of the song is pure rock, and it seems that the rest of the album will follow suit.
JC appeared on Ryan Seacrest's radio show in June to announce that his first single off of his second solo album will be "Until Yesterday." The track was described as not straight pop or rock, but upbeat and very musical with Queen-esque harmonies. "Until Yesterday" is scheduled to hit radio on August 14th. He also revealed that he collaborated with Justin Timberlake on the track. His second solo album is due out in the autumn of 2006.
JC was named one of People Magazine's Hottest Bachelors in June 2006.
Personal Life
He dated Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives, and was also reportedly linked to actress Tara Reid and briefly linked to Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, aka, Stacy Ferguson, during her Wild Orchid days. JC also had a long-term relationship with Bobbie Thomas, magazine editor for In Touch Weekly magazine, as well as a long-term relationship with actress and fellow mouseketeer, Nikki DeLoach.
