Juan Croucier (born August 22 1959) is an American, heavy metal musician. He was formerly a bassist for the metal bands Dokken and Ratt. Some people claim that in 1983, he and Jeff Pilson swapped places when Juan left Dokken for Ratt and claim that Pilson left Ratt to join Dokken. However, Juan Croucier himself has denied this. Interestingly, he played on "Breaking the Chains" by Dokken before departing prior to the video shoot. Pilson, having just replaced him, had to mimic the bass playing in the video. Upon joining Ratt, he was credited for helping the band sell five consecutive platinum albums and wrote many of the band's biggest hits such as "Lack of Communication" and You're In Love".
He now operates a recording studio ("The Cellar") in Los Angeles and works with his band, Liquid Sunday. He also bowls.
Juan Croucier was also briefly in Quiet Riot, but never recorded with the band.
He is set to tour with former Ratt lead singer Stephen Pearcy during the summer of 2006 and formed a new band, the new group consists of, Croucier on bass and vocals, Jeff Cohen on guitar, and John Medina on drums.[]
