Jukt Micronics is the name of a fictional software company fabricated by writer Stephen Glass during his time at The New Republic magazine. It was discovered by Adam Penenberg, reporter for Forbes Magazine's Digital Tool web site.
Glass claimed a teenage hacker Ian Restil (also fictionalized) had hacked into the Web site of Jukt Micronics, a "big-time software firm." The company purportedly tried to hire Restil as an information security consultant, and the teenager demanded money, pornographic magazine subscriptions and a car in return.
