Jules Pipe

Jules Pipe is the first directly-elected mayor of the London Borough of Hackney.
Pipe worked as a journalist until 2002.
Pipe was elected a Labour councillor in Stoke Newington in 1996, later representing King’s Park ward in south east Hackney. He was elected Mayor in October 2002 and re-elected in May 2006. His current term will expire in 2010. He was Leader of Hackney Council from June 2001 to October 2002.
