Jungle Troll (Warcraft)

Jungle trolls are a fictional race of trolls that exist in the Warcraft universe that have Jamaican, or sometimes Cuban accents.
Once, long ago, two competing troll empires ruled the world of Azeroth. Because they warred against each other, the empires fell to the powerful magics of the Night Elf civilization. Since their defeat, the trolls have fractured into hundreds of tribes - many have even evolved in new niche habitats, becoming island trolls, jungle trolls, forest trolls, ice trolls, mountain trolls, etc.
The jungle trolls live primarily in Stranglethorn Vale and the surrounding islands of the South Seas on the continent of Azeroth. Jungle trolls are loyal only to their own tribes, and wage war against other species and even other tribes of trolls. They practice a dark form of magic called voodoo, which can be seen in the various wards the jungle troll witch doctors use such as for healing, sight and stasis (stunning).
In Warcraft III the Darkspear Tribe overcame their hatred of other races, and joined forces with the Horde. When they were under attack by Murlocs the orc warchief Thrall rescued them. Later, when an angry sea witch caused the fiery eruption of their island's volcano, Thrall helped the trolls evacuate. Homeless, they decided to join him on his journey to Kalimdor, swearing an oath of loyalty to the Horde. By the time of World of Warcraft the tribe had settled into Sen'jin Village, with many trolls living in Orgrimmar, the orc capital city.
Unlike the Darkspear tribe, the remaining jungle troll tribes remain xenophobic and constantly wage war on the other tribes and races. For example, in World of Warcraft, an evil troll witch doctor named Zalazane has been attacking the trolls of Sen'jin Village from the ruins of the Echo Isles, using voodoo magic to hex other trolls and put them under his control. One of the earliest quests both orc and troll players must undertake is to kill Zalazane, with a related quest being to recover from Zalazane's altar the skull of Minshina, the brother of the leader of Sen'jin Village, in which his spirit is imprisoned.
- It is interesting to note that although it is claimed that "Zalazane chased the Darkspears from the Echo Isles" and nearly drove them to extinction, his in-game NPC is lower level than the Sen'jin Village's guards!
The racial mounts of the Darkspear trolls are raptors of various colors. The violet, emerald, and turquoise raptors (which increase speed by 60%) are not as elaborately barded (or as expensive) as the blue, olive, and orange epic raptors (which increase speed by 100%). Raptors have horns protruding from their snouts, making them look quite sinister. They are available for purchase by trolls and by those characters of other Horde races (with the exception of the tauren, who are too large to ride raptors) who have attained exalted reputation with the Darkspear tribe in Sen'jin Village, in southern Durotar.
