K. Massayan Sorsor, Sr. is one of the few children of the late Moses Kanibah Sorsor, former Principal of the Voinjama Public School,where Massayan did portion of his elementary school studies before completing it at the Seventh Day Adventist Mission School in Voinjama. His father-Teacher Sorsor, as he was commonly called, was beheaded in March 1993 during the Liberian Civil War in his home town of Vezala, Lofa County.
Massayan is a former student of the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Liberia. He holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from the AME Zion, Community College, BSc in Economics/Accounting from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He is currently working on his Master Degree in Political Science at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA.
Mr. Sorsor is one of the few young men that show their political gallantries in the 2005 Presidential and Legislative elections in Liberia. He ran on the Liberty Party's ticket as Senatorial candidate for Lofa County, but was narrowly defeated. Since than, his name has become a household name in the Lofa County Politics.
He was also among the few Liberian living outside Liberia that showed their loving hands to the many internally displaced Liberians.
