KAQY, Channel 11, is the ABC affiliate for Monroe, LA. KAQY's transmitter is located in Columbia, Louisiana.

History

KAQY brought ABC back to the Ark-La-Miss after a 4 year hiatus on Dec. 10, 1998 when they signed on as a full-power VHF television station. Prior to KAQY's launch, ABC programming was available on some cable systems via KLAX in Alexandria, and before that, it was available on KARD, now a Fox affiliate. KAQY is licensed to Columbia, Louisiana and serves the Monroe-El Dorado market (DMA 177,000 hh), broadcasting at 316 Kilowatts from an antenna 1,929 feet high, effectively covering Northeast Louisiana & Southern Arkansas.

Unlike some ABC stations, KAQY doesn't have a local newscast, instead, airing popular sitcoms at those timeslot.
