Encyclopedia : K : KC : KCW : KCWB (WB 100+)
"KCWB" is a cable-only The WB outlet in California's Coachella Valley, operated by Gulf-California Broadcast Company, owners of KESQ-TV and other radio and TV outlets. Although resembling call letters, KCWB is in fact merely a nickname, as the outlet is currently not broadcasting over-the-air.
"KCWB" is seen on channel 5 on Coachella Valley cable systems. Gulf-California has secured the rights to the new The CW Television Network in the Coachella Valley. A KESQ-TV newscast on 17 March 2006 reported that the company will use the "KCWB" cable outlet for its new The CW programming, when the network begins operation in September 2006.
The KCWB calls were once officially used on channel 29 in Kansas City, KCWE, which will also join the CW.
