550 AM KFYI is a news/talk radio station broadcasting out of Phoenix, Arizona. KFYI is owned by Clear Channel Communications. KFYI transmits in both analog AM and digital HD Radio.

The stations weekday lineup consist of local personalities Bruce Jacobs (5am-8am) and Barry Young (8am-10am). Rush Limbaugh (10am-1pm) and Sean Hannity (1pm-4pm) headline the afternoons, Joe Crummey (4pm-7pm) during the rush hour drive and George Noory late nights (10pm-5am). The evening show between Joe Crummey and George Noory (7pm-10pm) is TBD.

On Saturdays the lineup consists of Ken Voight (6am-8am), Dr. Bob Martin (8am-12pm), Kim Komando (12pm-2pm), Jan D'Atri (2pm-4pm), Michael Reagan (4pm-6pm), Roberta Gale (6pm-8pm), Steve Godfrey (8pm-10pm), and Coast to Coast AM (10pm-5am).

Sunday lineup consists of garden talk with Brian Whitfill (7am-8am), financial talk with Keith DeGreen (8am-11am), Bill Handel's 'Handel on the Law' (11am-2pm), Jim Sharpe (2pm-5pm), Terry Gilberg (5pm-7pm), Matt Drudge (7pm-10pm), and Art Bell (10pm-5am).

On March 8, 2006, KFYI made news when temporary and part-time radio talk show host named Brian James, a fill-in host, joked with the idea that the National Guard and Border Patrol should shoot to kill people illegally crossing the US-Mexican border.[link] Those remarks prompted Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard and U.S. Attorney Paul Charlton to complain to the FCC.

History

KFYI used to broadcast on 910 AM, which is now the home to KFYI's sports sister station, KGME, formerly at 550 on the AM dial.

KFYI has hosted other notable talk show hosts in the past including Tom Liddy, Austin Hill, Tom Leykis, [Charles Goyette], Bob Mohan, John Dayl, and Joe Arpaio, and has syndicated Ken Hamblin and Dr. Laura.
