KHQ-TV

KHQ-TV, also known as "Q6", is the NBC affiliate for Spokane, Washington. It broadcasts its analog signal on channel 6. The station is owned by The KHQ Television Group (a subsidiary of Cowles Publishing, which owns The Spokane Spokesman-Review newspaper). Its sister stations are KNDO 23 (Yakima) and KNDU 25 (Tri-Cities).
It is one of five local Spokane TV stations seen in Canada on the StarChoice satellite provider as well as Shaw Cable in Calgary, Alberta and other markets.
History
KHQ is Spokane's first television station, and the only major station in Spokane to remain with its origanal affiliation (NBC) since it began. It signed on the air on December 20, 1952 as a dual NBC/ABC affiliate. KREM took the ABC affiliation when it signed on air in 1954, but KHQ kept the NBC affiliation, which it remains to this day.
