The club's main national successes included twelve championships of SFR Yugoslavia (including an unprecedented nine-year winning streak 1946-1955), as well as being the three times champion of FR Yugoslavia (in 1993, 1994, 1998). They also won the Yugoslav basketball cup in 1971, 1973, 1975, and more recently the Cup of Serbia and Montenegro in 2004 and 2006.
Their biggest international success was the Cup Winners' Cup in 1974.
KK Crvena zvezda plays in the Pionir Hall, built in 1973, with a capacity of 7,000 seats. Their fans are known as Delije.
