Encyclopedia : K : KS : KSE : KSER

KSER is a non-commercial station whose format slogan sums it all in one slogan: "Your Independent Voice for News and Culture." The station, which is owned and operated by the non-profit KSER Foundation, broadcasts at 90.7Mhz with a ERP of 5.8kw and is licensed to Everett, Washington. Its on-air moniker is "A Sound Adventure."

History

KSER's roots traces back to February 9, 1991, when the Jack Straw Foundation signed the station on the air in nearby Lynnwood, Washington. By 1994 the foundation sold the station to its current owners, who relocated the studios to Everett and its transmitter to Lake Stevens, Washington, giving them complete coverage in Snohomish County. Although their signal also reaches King County, their signal is limited due to signal coverage from KVTI/Tacoma, which broadcasts next door at 90.9.

KSER's programming consists of News, Public Affairs, Talk and diversified music shows, as well as the latest world news from the BBC and the CBC.
