KWJZ (Smooth Jazz 98.9) is a Smooth jazz station based in Seattle, Washington. The Sandusky outlet broadcasts at 98.9Mhz with a ERP of 57kw. Its transmitter is located in Issaquah, Washington.
History
KWJZ, whose legacy dates back from 1948 to 1953 (as KOMO-FM) and would later return to the air in 1958 as KMCS, and whose formats included Contemporary hits (1963-1974; switched calls to KBBX in 1965), Beautiful music (1974-1980 as KEZX), Adult Contemporary (1980-1991) and back to Beautiful music (1991-1993), flipped formats to its current incarnation in August 1993. In 1995 they took the KWJZ calls to compliment its current format, which has become a favorite among listeners.External links
