KXTU-LP
Encyclopedia : K : KX : KXT : KXTU-LP
KXTU is a low-powered television station serving Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and other communities in southern Colorado. It is licensed to operate on channel 57. KXTU is a sister station to KXRM-TV.
Unlike most other low-powered stations, it is available to viewers on DIRECTV as well as on cable systems.
It has been an affiliate of UPN, but when that network leaves the air in September of 2006, it will switch to the CW, which was created by the merger of UPN and the WB.
The Federal Communications Commission approved Barrington Broadcasting's purchase of KXTU and 11 other stations from Raycom Media in June 2006; this acquisition is now pending finalization.
