Encyclopedia : K : KZ : KZU : KZUP-CA

KZUP-CA (Z19) is the local (independent station) for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It transmits its analog signal on UHF channel 19. It is owned by Knight Broadcasting, and is sister station to the area's (NBC) affiliate WVLA.

The station signed on the air in 1997 as an UPN affiliate, but went to an independent station after its contract ended in 2003. It lost the rights to Raycom Media's WBXH, also known as "The Block."

For some years, the station once carried telecasts of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
