KaffeineNet is an IRC Network based off the premise of an open chat environment. Utilizing the srvx services set, KaffeineNet provides Channel and Account services to its users. The network has played host to projects such as nUbuntu, a bootable Linux distribution.
History
Originally named DHPNet, it was soon renamed KaffeineNet after a poll was taken through it's then, miniscule amount of users. In mid-2004, KaffeineNet users migrated to a new network, OtherNet, while the KaffeineNet name propagated to other services, such as Kaffeinated Images, a free image hosting service. In late 2005, OtherNet was disbanded and the original users of KaffeineNet then began to organize a new IRC network, moving to a new services package and IRC daemon.
