- Kalyani is a raga in the Carnatic Music of South India. In South Indian weddings this is a very prominently played raga. The word kalyani means 'she who causes auspicious things'.
- Kalyani is a term used to describe ancient Hindu bathing wells (stepped wells) also called pushkarni. These wells were typically built near Hindu temples to accommodate bathing and cleansing activities before prayer.
- Kalyani, today called Basavakalyan, is an historic town in Karnataka state of India, and was the capital the Kalyani Chalukya dynasty from 973 to 1195.
- Kalyani, West Bengal is also a town in the Nadia District of West Bengal.
