Kan-Etsu Expressway

The Kan-etsu Expressway (関越自動車道 Kan'etsu jidōshadō) is a divided, limited-access toll road that connects the Kanto region and the Kō-Shin-Etsu part of the Chubu region of Japan. Its name comes from Kanto and Etsu.
The Kan-Etsu has two routes. Both begin in Tokyo and end in Niigata Prefecture. One route goes to the city of Niigata. The other terminates in Joetsu.
Niigata Route
Major highlights of the Niigata Route include the following:- Nerima Interchange. An extension to the Shuto Expressway No.10 Harumi Route (under construction) to meet the Kan-etsu here is under consideration.
- Oizumi Junction: Tokyo Gaikan Expressway
- Tsurugashima Junction: Shuto-ken Chuo Renraku-do ("Ken-Ō Expressway")
- Kan-etsu Tunnel: 11 km, longest in Japan
- Nagaoka Junction: Hokuriku Expressway
