Kangaroo Ground is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Nillumbik.
It is the site of the Australian campus of SIL International and the Australian headquarters of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Kangaroo Ground also contains the Kangaroo Ground Primary School, a tennis club, a general store, post office, a pony club, a fire station and Wellers Restaurant. Its post office is reputed to be the only one in Australia which is also a winery. Kangaroo Ground is sited within a Green_Belt.
The Kangaroo Ground memorial tower is one of the highest places in Melbourne. Originally built as a World War 1 memorial, it is presently used to monitor bushfires during the bushfire season.
