Karachev (Russian: ) is an old town (founded in 1146) in Bryansk Oblast, Russia. In the Middle Ages, it was the capital of one of the Upper Principalities, until its rulers moved their seat to Peremyshl. Its old architecture was lost during the World War II.
Population: 20,175 (2002 Census).
