Kasumigaura (かすみがうら市; -shi) is a city located in Ibaraki, Japan. Kasumigaura was formerly a town in Niihari District and became a city on March 28, 2005 after merging with the neighboring town of Chiyoda, Ibaraki. The city takes its name from the nearby lake, Kasumigaura (霞ヶ浦). The city has the distinction of having the longest name in Japan (in terms of the number of characters used), together with Ichikikushikino and Tsukubamirai.

As of March 1, 2005 population data, the city has an estimated population of 45,373 and a density of 382 persons per km². The total area is 118.77 km².
