Kawabe (河辺郡; -gun) was a district located in Akita, Japan. As of January 11, 2005 the district merged with the city of Akita (roughly doubling the city's size) and no longer exists.
As of 2003 (before merging), the district had an estimated population of 18,264 and a density of 40.99 persons per km². The total area was 445.57 km².
