Kebechsenef
Encyclopedia : K : KE : KEB : Kebechsenef
In
Egyptian mythology,
Kebechsenef is a funerary god, associated with
falcons and
canopic jars (specifically: the jar which contained the
intestines). He was considered one of the
Four sons of Horus, and usually his mother was said to be
Isis. As one of the four funerary gods, he was watched over by
Serket. His name is variously realised as
Kebehsenuf,
Kebechsenef,
Qebshenuf or
Qebehsenuf. It probably means something like 'My Brothers' Libation'.
