Kevin Hodges holds the record for the most appearances in a Plymouth Argyle shirt (530, 1978–1992), and also played for and managed Torquay United. He later returned to Plymouth Argyle, from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, as manager. He was the assistant manager of Yeovil Town until June 2006, being released following the appointment of Russell Slade as manager..
