Encyclopedia : K : KH : KHA : Kha
Kha, or Ha, (Х, х) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet, representing the voiceless velar fricative /x/ like the 'ch' in German 'Bach' except when followed by a palatalizing vowel, when it is pronounced [xʲ]; this is considered an allophone rather than a separate phoneme. It derives from the Greek letter chi (Χ, χ).
