Kibei

Encyclopedia : K : KI : KIB : Kibei

Kibei was a term often used in the 1940s to describe Japanese Americans born in the United States who returned to America after being educated in Japan. These people were thought of as likely threats against the U.S. because as students who were taught in Japan, they learned that the Japanese emperor was god-like, and thus their allegiance to a god-like person would be stronger than that to a term-ruler.
