Kinetic (song)
Encyclopedia : K : KI : KIN : Kinetic (song)
Kinetic is the b-side to the 2001 Radiohead single 'Pyramid Song'.
Overview
The track is on the edge of even the strangest Kid A or Amnesiac songs, mostly because of the replacement of drums by vocal samples; an electric kit was set up to play said samples, and so what would be a normal rhythm became a backing to a song that continues the theme from Killer Cars and Airbag of cars being exceptionally dangerous, a belief that stems from Thom Yorke suffering a near-fatal car crash. The song itself features vocals similar to those on Like Spinning Plates, and indeed,if they are played backwards, words can be perceived - including the lines 'Be careful, be safe' and 'where was that?' amongst other less understandable, but still clearly real lyrics.
