King's Ransom is a 2005 comedy film, directed by Jeff Byrd and written by Wayne Conley, who was a writer for Kenan & Kel.
Plot
Malcolm King (played by Anderson) is a wealthy, selfish, obnoxious businessman who is about to divorce from his wife Renee (played by Smith). She plans to ruin him financially during the court proceedings, and King is willing to do anything to protect his fortune.
He enlists his mistress, Peaches (played by Hall), and her brother to stage a mock kidnapping. They are to make and receive huge ransom demand, which would keep the money safe from his wife.
Unfortunately for him, two other people have similar plans to kidnap him; Angela (played by Parker), an aggrieved employee and Corey (played by Mohr), who lives in his grandmother's basement and needs $10,000 after being threatened by half-sister.

Reaction
King's Ransom was a catastrophic disaster at the box office but received even worse reviews from the critics. All totaled, the film took in approximatley Four million US dollars at the box office in just over a month. The average grade on Yahoo! Movies from the critics was a D- and from the Yahoo! Users, a D+. It was also one of the only films to receive a 0% fresh rating from the critics on rottentomatoes.com. One of the only other films was .
