Encyclopedia : K : KI : KIN : King Glaukias
King Glaukias, an Illyrian of the Taulanti tribe, reigned over Illyria from 317 BC to 303 BC. In 314 BC, Glaukias was defeated by Cassander, successor of Alexander the Great. Cassander reclaimed Dyrrachium and Apollonia for Macedon and forced Glaukias to sign a treaty pledging peace with Macedon and its allies. Glaukias adopted Pyrrhus, the well-known Molossian prince and later king of Epirus.
