King of Donair

King of Donair, (KOD), is a restaurant founded in the early 1970's in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The first store was on Quinpool Road and serviced a broad clientele into the early morning hours when at the time only a limited number of eating establishments were open. KOD serves a wide range of food including the donair, the super donair, pizza (including donair pizza), and the taco sub. The "super" is a particularly potent mixture of donair meat, sweet donair sauce (condensed milk, sugar, and vinegar), with fresh onions and tomatoes.

Today, KOD is still thriving at seven locations throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality, and has been prominently featured in a number of episodes of the hit TV series Trailer Park Boys.

It claims to have been the first to sell donairs in Canada in 1973.
