Kipper the Dog is a character in a series of books for preschool age children by Mick Inkpen. The books have 34 titles (as of July 2005), have sold over 8 million copies, and have been translated into over 20 languages. The books have also won many awards.
Kipper the Dog is also the name of an animated series for preschool age children, based on the same characters, and in some cases the episodes are based on some of the books by Mick Inkpen. The videos have won awards including a BAFTA award for best children's animation. The series is from HIT Entertainment.
Cast of Characters
The main characters are:Kipper, a dog (voiced by Martin Clunes)
Tiger, a grey schnauzer dog and Kipper's best friend (voiced by Chris Lang, who does almost all of the other voices)
Pig, a pig and Kipper's 'other best friend'
Arnold, a pig and Pig's cousin (who is quite young and does not speak, much, but has many exciting paranormal encounters when the others are occupied)
Jake, a large sheepdog
The Bleeper people, space aliens
Kipper's toys include a stuffed zebra
