Kirkwall Airport  is the main airport serving the Orkney Islands in Scotland. It is located on 6 km east of Kirkwall and is owned by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited. 


The airport is served by scheduled Loganair flights to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Sumburgh and Wick. It is also the base station for the Orkney inter-island air service (the shortest scheduled service in the world), also operated by Loganair, which links Kirkwall with a series of Orkney Islands Council owned airstrips on the outlying islands. Other airport users include air ambulance flights, fisheries protection aircraft, the Northern Lighthouse Board helicopter, and various charter flights.
