Kirov (Russian: ), formerly known as Pesochnya (Песо́чня), is a town in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, located on the Bolva River (Desna's tributary) some 160 km southwest of Kaluga. Population: 38,900 (2005 est.); 38,893 (2002 Census); 29,000 (1970).

The settlement of Pesochnya was founded in 1745. It was granted town status and renamed Kirov in honor of Sergey Kirov in 1936.
