- Kita-ku is a common ward name, and can be found in several cities:

- * Kita-ku, Osaka

- * Kita-ku, Sapporo
- * Kita-ku, Tokyo
- Kita is also a local term for the northern commercial district of Osaka (part of, but not the same as, Kita-ku).
- Kita is used as a prefix in place names, notably Kitakyushu, a city in Fukuoka Prefecture.

- Kita is a town in Mali.
- KITA is short for Kick in the Ass, a motivational method.
- Kita is also the stage name of Sampsa Astala the drummer of the Finnish glam metal band Lordi.
