Kitabatake Harutomo

Kitabatake Harutomo (1503-1563) warlord of the japanese province of Ise during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Harumoto was the son of Kitabatake Murachika. Through Harumoto's loyalty to Ashikaga Yoshiharu his name was changed to Harumoto (originally being Chikahira). Harumoto at one time led his troops to assist the Rokkaku's fight against the Kyogoku family while suppressing the Nagano family within his own domain. Harumoto became known for his supposed interest in cultural pursuits.
