Kitty can have the following meanings:
General
- Kitty is a collection of money temporarily held until awarded to winners in a gambling event, as in a pool or poker pot. In some trick-taking games, this term refers to a group of cards that are left undealt. It may also be a source of funds to which a group of people may contribute more or less equally for the purpose of buying goods used by the group, such as a 'tea kitty' (typically in an office environment). This sense is etymologically unrelated to kitten; it instead is derived from kit.
- Kitty is also an alternative name for the small white ball or jack used as the target in lawn bowls. It is referred to in both the nominative case, i.e. kitty as well as the kitty.
